It is such a wonderful experience renting a car with them. The condition is absolutely excellent. Of course the car have minor issues since JDM car has such a history, it did not bother the enjoyment at all. Thanks for the staff Len explaining all the details well and it will be much a pleasure for me to rent again from them as well.

Toshi's service was excellent. They were very friendly while I was waiting, chatting with me about cars. Even though I had driven in Japan before, they explained the precautions in detail and attentively.

Flawless GT-R rental from the Haneda store. The car was in great condition, and pickup and return were fast and easy. The team was clear on insurance, fuel and the ETC card. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a genuine JDM experience in Japan.

I had an absolute blast renting from here. Everything is done very professionally, and the staff is very kind. I rented their white skyline and had a wonderful time driving it through the streets of Tokyo. Definitely a must-do activity for car enthusiasts or just JDM fans.

Tourist FAQ

Can American / British / Australian tourists drive in Japan?
Yes. Citizens of countries that signed the 1949 Geneva Convention on Road Traffic (which includes the US, UK, Australia, Canada, most of South America and most of South-East Asia) can drive in Japan with an International Driving Permit (IDP) plus their home-country licence. The IDP must be obtained in your home country before you arrive.
My country is not on the Geneva list. Can I still drive?
If you are from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy (recent), Switzerland, Slovenia, Monaco or Taiwan, you cannot use an IDP – instead, obtain an official Japanese translation of your home-country licence from JAF (Japan Automobile Federation) or your country’s embassy in Japan. We can assist you with the JAF translation process when you arrive.
How safe is driving in Tokyo?
Tokyo traffic is busy but very orderly. Drivers are courteous. Roads are well-signed (Latin alphabet on highways). Speed limits are strictly enforced. Most tourists handle Tokyo driving comfortably after the first 30 minutes. Our cars are equipped with English-language GPS.
Do I drive on the left or the right?
Left. Like the UK, Japan drives on the left, with the steering wheel on the right side. If you are coming from a right-hand-drive country (US, EU, most of Asia outside UK/Japan), expect a short adjustment period.
How do tolls work?
Most expressways are tolled. Our cars come with an ETC card – tolls are charged to us during your rental and itemised on the final invoice. There is no need for cash at the toll gate.
What if I get into an accident?
Stop, ensure safety, and call 110 (police) and the OnlyJDM emergency line printed on the in-car card. Your CDW insurance (if selected) caps your liability at the deposit amount. We have multilingual staff to assist in real time.
